Knaresborough is picturesquely situated amid luxu¬
riously wooded hills on the banks of the River Nidd which
is spanned by the Upper and Lower bridges. The town
has much to offer the visitor besides its beauty of
position, among its attractions being the Parish Church,
an interesting building of Early English architecture, and
the Castle, dating from the time of Edward III.
